I am originally from Wigan in Lancashire, having lived in Bingham for the last 10 years.

I took up the guitar at the age of 16, after joining Wigan Folk Club and being totally sold on the different types of music played there, particularly traditional folk, and ragtime.

I was influenced at that time by the music of Bert Jansch and John Renbourne of the group Pentangle, also Tom Paxton.

I had a long period of inactivity on the guitar, starting to play again around 1991

I like a wide range of music, and try to do a variety of material at Bingham, though I have to confess to still being a fairly reluctant performer at times!

I now also play rhythm guitar with “The Last Shot” and have enjoyed doing a few pub gigs with them.
