I played guitar for 40 years, but fat and arthritic fingers eventually stopped that, so I looked for an instrument that used less dexterity - and found the autoharp.

Holding down a chord with one finger appealed to me, but I soon found that a lot more was possible with this instrument than just strumming chords, and am now more proficient on this than I ever was on guitar.

I belong to the UK Autoharps Association, and am learning a lot from the fabulous players there.

My "repertoire" is anything I enjoy singing or playing. As I get better at playing, I am moving more in that direction, but still enjoy singing anything with a good tune, from traditional folk through 60's folk revival up to Kate Rusby, taking in some gospel and Old Time along the way.

I really enjoy the supportive and friendly atmosphere at Bingham, and feel that my many mistakes are tolerated in a very forgiving way. If you feel you would like to subject yourself to said mistakes, you can listen in and read more at www.colourpencilart.co.uk/autoharp.htm
