We met in 2007, competing for the deputy Euphonium slot in Nottingham Concert Band. Both equally useless, NCB decided to retain both on the basis that two halves make some sort of whole. The euphonia are sometimes inflicted on Bingham folkies but we prefer to massacre acoustic and bass guitar. Our musical tastes are wide ranging folk and choral with a good smattering of Beatles.

Dave is into explosives, toy guns and helicopters.
Andy prefers recumbents, roller blades and robots. We both sail Drascombes.

We are both retired. Dave worked his way through teaching chemistry in Nottingham schools to become a head teacher. He is a Co-director, along with John Wakefield, of ‘Science on Stage’, working with schools throughout Nottinghamshire.

Andy taught physics and Design Technology in Cheshire schools before moving to teacher training at Nottingham Trent University. He now takes an active role in promoting D&T education with a special interest in systems and control and robotics.
