Guests : Bill Whaley & Dave Fletcher

11 July 2008

On 11 July the club enjoyed a return visit from Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher.

These two performers are always a delight as they appear so natural with their dry sense of humour. I am sure they perform so often that they don't have to rehearse - it just seems to flow naturally.

They gave a very spirited rendering of - 'If I Were A Blackbird', very much enjoyed by all. Dave and Bill say they don't write their own songs but that is of no detriment as they perform the work of others with great style and panache.

I found their new song - 'Find Me A New Song To Sing', by Lawrence Dean, particularly enjoyable. It was a shame that the floor spots overran, thereby curtailing some of the time that should have been filled by Bill and Dave, especially as they didn't have time to perform their traditional closing song.
