Bingham Folk Club Guest : Ben Sands

24 November 2006

Ben Sands

Ben produced his usual star performance to thrill a full house at the club.

He treated us to an excellent mix of familiar and new songs and tunes, once again revealing his talents as a song - writer, singer and instrumentalist.

In his songs, he can cover a wide range of emotions, from deep pathos to hilarious humour - in many cases the two can be found in the same song, and they often relate to everyday occurrences (such as getting lost on the roads of Ireland).

The climax of the second - half set was his rendering of 'The Gypsy Rover' - which also brought out the whistling talents of male members of the audience! His stories and patter, in his gentle Northern Irish brogue, also helped to give us a super evening!.
