Guest : Witches of Elswick

19 November 2004

If Shakespeare had seen this quartet of witches I think the scene from Macbeth would have had a different slant and less room round the cooking pot!

Four spirited young ladies gathered from all over England, to perform their own cauldron of close harmony songs, traditional ballads and tales, gathered from extensive folk root.

An eclectic mix, with a flow of cheeky banter amongst themselves and the audience who quickly warmed to them, held mesmerised by the variety, styles and tones that they put to their own interpretations of their varied repertoire. No eye of newt, or leg of toad, just fun and enjoyment for all tastes.
